About Hellenic Canadian Community of York Region
We are the Hellenic Canadian Community of York Region (HCCY), a non-profit organization incorporated in 1980 and active in the York Region area.
The HCCY has a number of objectives including the preservation and fostering of the study and development of the Greek culture and traditions among members of the community. For more than three decades the HCCY has been dedicating itself to building up our youth toward higher academic achievement and community excellence through the creation and running of a school called the York Hellenic Educational Society which is also known as Hellenic Academy of York (HAY). These children are taught the Greek language, history, culture, dancing and music and always within the context of Canada. Throughout the year, the HCCY will be hosting various events and fundraisers. These are fun events where you can meet the fellow members of your community. Please check out the “Events” tab to learn more.
